Engagement — Platform Due Diligence

Code & Co. provides Tech & Product Due Diligence to SEP ahead of its growth investment in Tyk, a leading cloud-native Full Life Cycle API Management Platform

Scottish Equity Partners (“SEP”), a growth equity investor specializing in investing in high-growth technology companies across the UK and Europe, leads $35M growth capital round in Tyk to help further scale its independent, open-source API and service management platform.

With businesses reinventing the way they work, software is now built across multiple clouds, locations, and teams. APIs are the backbone of this, and Tyk’s technology enables modern engineering teams to monitor, secure, and manage all their organization’s APIs in a single, functionally rich platform.

Since its founding in 2014, Tyk has grown to over 100 people, with offices in London, Singapore, and Atlanta. The remote-first organization has employees based in over 26 countries across 6 continents and allows staff to work from wherever they want, in the way that works best for them. With the capital, Tyk aims to “connect every system in the world” (Martin Buhr, founder & CEO) by building the best and most innovative API management platform, supporting its expanded Universal Data Graph capabilities (i.e. a GraphQL-based gateway to help secure, cache, and optimize the performance of various APIs), and build the company’s next-generation multi-vendor managed cloud.

Code & Co. advised SEP on Tech & Product Due Diligence compiling an in-depth assessment of software architecture and infrastructure, technology stack, scalability, and security. Further, Code & Co. assessed the company's platform capabilities, data strategy, and product-strategic growth plans.

This transaction highlights Code & Co.’s sector expertise in highly complex technical and operational sectors of the global digital economy.
